I feel bad for even considering this because I feel like I'm betraying fellow TB'er "Alembicguy" in some way. This is not the case ! I had the smoothest transaction with Jim. He's a true asset to TB community, and a wonderful guy. I am just having a hard time with the short scale 30.75" neck.
+++ I ONLY want to trade for another Alembic +++ I WILL DO AN OUTRIGHT SALE, TOO , but trades are only for a Mark King Alembic or ? ++++++
Here is a 1995 Stanley Clarke Signature series Alembic bass guitar.
It is a player's bass - Not a museum piece. By that, I mean it has a few personality traits. It has an extra hole drilled on top of the upper horn for an extra strap lock. It is actually a good addition, but not "stock". The brass serial number plate has some finger marks. I think it looks cool and shows that this Alembic has "personality". If this bothers you, then I'm sorry.
Let's put it this way - It's an Alembic bass ; it's meant to be played and enjoyed, NOT to be thrown in a case or into a museum. The fact that there ARE a few bumps make it a relief to play without the fear of getting the "first bump".
This is a Stanley Clarke Alembic - It has tone most people would shed a tear for because they just sold a kidney to aquire it. I can and have FINALLY found the very covetted "SCHOOL DAYS" tone !!!!!!!!
It has :
- Vol
- Blend
- Preamp/Filter x 2
- Q switch x 2
- Abalone inlays
- Gold Alembic hardware
- Gold Dunlop Straplocks
- After market FretFx green LED system. Super cool.
I am used to a 35" scale, and this bass, of course, is a 30.75" scale neck. The action is super low, no fret noise (goes without saying), has about a 1.75" nut (feels great), and tone for days. This bass is easy to play, BUT I have big hands and it is overall a little too small for me, but I just can't keep my hands off it, though !
I am ONLY interested in a TRADE for a 34" scale Alembic with the vol/blend/dual filter/dual Q switch like this one has.
1st choice - Mark King Signature Alembic
this is a feeler - I can't believe I own a Stanley Clarke Alembic ! Please don't offer any trades other than Alembic.
