1996 Zon Sonus fretless 4-string

For sale only: lovely old Zon bass. Has black Warwick tuners and a factory-installed Fender-style bridge, otherwise stock. In good condition with only a few dings and some playing wear. Price is $1000 plus shipping. I'm selling it because I simply don't need it, though every time I pick it up, I wish I did!
Caveat: Zon made this bass without a truss rod, so the neck can't be adjusted. It willl move a bit with the weather due to the phenolic fingerboard. Zon can rebuild it with a truss rod, but will charge around $600 (a little lame, I think, as this is a design flaw and they now use truss rods for this very reason, but that's the deal). I have had the fingerboard dressed and it plays beautifully. $600 covers a lot of fingerboard dressings! Bottom line (heh), this is a great-playing, great-sounding bass for a great price.

It's 1 1/4" at the nut, 2 3/8" at the bridge. It's basically the same dimensions as a Jazz Bass.
