1997 EBMM Stingray - RARE "Natural Velvet"

Sign in to disble this ad
1997 EBMM Stingray - "Natural Velvet" finish

Ash body, with a stunning natural non-gloss, satin oiled finish. These were only made for a short time in the mid-'90s.

The neck is decorated with some sweet bird's eye, and a handsome rosewood board.

Black matte-finish pickguard to match.

3-band EQ

It's light for a 'Ray...bathroom digital scale says 8.8 lbs.

Brand new gig bag

Wearing brand new DR Fat Beams (this bass has a sick slap sound)

This bass is in super clean condition! It has clearly rested under the bed for years. I'd have to call it a 9/10.

A very comfortable and great sounding bass. I can see why people say a '90s MusicMan is something special.

$1050 shipped
(The only trade I might consider is a Stingray with maple/2-band.)

I'm not sure of the nut width...I'm assuming standard Ray, but I'll measure tonight.
The frets are great. This bass has really hardly been played.

I measured the neck width at the nut...it's the standard 41.3mm.

Nice one. I have a Natural Velvet Sterling and it is a sweet finish, so smooth and slippery. So bump for a great looking 'Ray.

That's a good point! I let my friend try out the Velvet today, and he loved the way the finish was smooth and slippery, and didn't "grab" his right forearm like a gloss finish does.
