1997 Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V five-string w/OHSC

I just took this bass in on a trade a few hours ago. I need to sell it before I change my mind and keep it...which I can't afford to do!

It is a 34" scale has 1.875" nut. I dunno exactly what color it is, but it looks like Shoreline Gold. The bass itself, plays nicely and would be considered to be in great condition for a newer bass, but this one is 14 years old! It weighs about 9 lbs. on my bathroom scale.

The body is alder, and the maple neck is "modern C" shaped, with a satin polyurethane finish. The Pao Ferro fretboard has a 9.5" radius and 20 medium jumbo frets - both in excellent condition. This particular bass features the original factory-installed John Suhr-designed preamp with large and single pole pickups, which are very highly regarded for their more aggressive sound than the dual-pole design. Controls are configured: volume; blend; stacked bass and treble boost/cut; and mid boost/cut. The output jack is on the side. Schaller strap buttons are installed and the locks will be included.

There only a couple of minor issues (see photos), none of which effect playability or sound. There is a small chip in the top layer of clearcoat on the side, due north of the bridge. It looks stable and would be covered up by your right forearm as you play. There's also the obligatory minor cymbal dings on the top edge of the headstock.

$950 $900 $850 shipped in the case to the CONUS. I am not interested in ANY trades.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, and thanks for looking.

I knew this was gonna happen.

I spent a couple of hours working this bass through the motions yesterday, and now having second thoughts. Maybe sell the MIM Jazz V and keep this lighter, sweeter MIA? Somebody stop me!

Wow...another day off with this Fender and I'm even more amazed with the playability of this bass. The neck feels great and the balance is awesome. If I could afford to keep this Jazz V, the thread would be closed!

ewwww.... that has gotta hurt!

Anyway, nice bass! I just bought the same bass in blue earlier this week. Superb player, and punchy as all get out. I really don't have a great big need for an active jazz type, but the punch in these basses is a fingerstyle players best friend!

Good luck with the sale!

last drop before hitting eBay. If you've been watching this bass, now's the time to do it. $850...shipped in the OHSC.
