This Stingray is a 1999 model in the very rare Pearl Purple finish, with rosewood fingerboard. This colour was only offered from 1999 to 2001, so they don't pop up very often at all. Apart from this one, I've only ever seen one other for sale on eBay, TalkBass or the EBMM forums since 2001. I scored this one from Ishibashi last year, and it's a great playing and sounding Stingray (no surprise there).
Frets have hardly any wear at all, and cosmetically this bass is in good condition, but definitely NOT "mint" or "as new". There are the usual nicks and scratches from regular gigging, as well as a few small dings around the jack and the bottom edge of the body (presumably a previous owner stood the bass on the floor and didn't use a stand at gigs). The headstock is discoloured from where the previous owner in Japan had stickers (see photo), and the outline of old stickers is just visible on the pickguard. The neck has a 1/4" long nick on the back of the neck near the nut, but is otherwise unmarked. There is some really nice birdseye on the back of the maple neck.
Strings are near new Ernie Ball Flatwounds. Weight is 9lbs.
There is no hard case, but I will ship the bass via insured trackable international express post, with the neck off, in a heavy duty shipping carton.
US$1249, including worldwide shipping.

Good luck with the sale!

Guess I shouldn't have sold it! | Trans purple is a different color - I know the color you are referring to, it's often referred to as "grape".
However, this one is a solid metal flake purple - pearl purple.

Someone please step up and help the seller out and give this bass a little TLC! Those headstock markings are brutal but I'm sure would be fixable with a competent sand-down and refinish.

Or course, cigarette smoke would yellow the white parts even quicker (which is how I imagine the un-stickered sections yellowed anyway, given the number of smokers in Japan LOL).
Venues in Australia are all smoke-free these days, so no opportunity for me to yellow it up at gigs

We'll eventually be smoke-free in bars here too... but it's taking awhile.
