I just picked this bass up from Modulus Acacia. It's a great bass but I am not going to be able to adjust to the string spacing. I currently play a Lakland 55 94 with 19mm spacing and the Spector is 17mm. So I guess my days of playing Spectors are over. Unless Stuart makes a 19mm spacing bass. Here is the original thread: Spector Euro 5-string
One great thing about this bass is that it is one of the first year euro basses made. The early euro's were made almost exactly like the U.S. basses in materials and quality. This bass has the original highly sought after preamp in it. With volume, balance, bass and treble controls. The pots have the center detents in them as well. Not the cheap Spector Tone dump that comes with the newer models. It also has the full quilted maple body wings. Not the just the top with the alder back.
It really is a nice quality bass. I wish he still made them like this.
The bass is trans blue but looks purple in the pics that Modulus took. It comes with a SSD hardshell case which is in mint condition. Also comes with the straplocks, allen wrenches and original reciept.
This bass sounds incredible! I love Spectors. And have owned a lot of them over the years. But because of weight issues or now the spacing issues I have always had to turn them over.
I have to say that this one is one of the best sounding, playing and looking euro's I have ever owned. It plays like butter. Balances well. And looks real cool on stage. I am really gonna miss it.
Because I just bought a Musicman Classic Stingray and need to pay the bill I am pricing the Spector at $950.00 shipped in the CONUS.
No Trades please.
Payment to be made by U.S. Postal Money Order or Paypal.
Thanks for checking it out.

But if he makes one in a bolt on then maybe he will make one in a neck through. But of course it will cost around $5,000.00. Anyways thanks for the info.
Still gotta sell the one listed.

$850.00 shipped in the CONUS. Come on take it. You know you want it. You will never find another one in this kind of shape. It's like it's brand new. And these early Chech models are the best Euro's ever made. It sounds, plays and looks amazing. I would keep it but I have become so use to playing 19 mm spacing that I just can't go back to 17 mm.
My lose is your gain. I took a chance on buying it because I love the sound of Spectors.
I should have listened to my head not my heart. This is the last price drop. If it doesn't sell I am just going to keep it and put it away.
Someone give it a good home where it will be played.

This is a great bass. I hope someone buys it because it's well worth it. The price is great!
FWIW, I have a 4 banger version of this in the same purple color. |
