I have decided to do the unthinkable, I am putting my Modulus Flea 5 bass up for sale. Here is more info:
Modulus Flea FB5 2002 model
Silver Metal Flake finish
Bartolini MMJ, Aguilar 18V electronics
Matching headstock
Standard finish neck
Modulus Hardshell case
$1350 + shipping
I ordered this new in early 2002, and I had a Warwick FNA 4 string that got used for most of the shows, so this one is still in excellent shape. There is a small chip out of the clear finish on the back of the next, about a 1/4" in diameter that is not very noticeable. I tried to take pictures but it barely shows up due to the weave pattern on the neck. There is also a small crack in the clear coat at the neck joint, this is very common on the metal flake finishes, almost every one you find will have this. I recently cleaned all of the pots on the controls, and the volume pot makes a little bit of noise, but not bad at all and could easily be fixed or replaced.
Overall, this bass is a strong 9 out of 10 and sounds and plays like no other. I am only considering selling to get another 4 string since I sold my Warwick. I will consider trades for a older Flea 4 with the Lane Poor Pickup. If you have any questions or would like more pictures, please email me at
