SOLD< SOLD This is a super, super bass. It was a good bass before the upgraded preamp but now with the Glockenklang it's on a different level. The Glock is a 3 band with the bypass on the Volume knob for passive mode.
Classic Sunburst and the more sought after Made in Korea version. A very subtle ash body(I think) with freshly leveled and crowned Rosewood fingerboard. The figuring actually looks more like Alder but I don't know of any 5501's that were made of Alder. I could be wrong.
The Pickups are still the stock Bart MK1's as I didn't hear to need to upgrade after hearing the preamp. Perhaps down the road I would have put in some Nordy's.
A thunderous B string. This baby is ready for the Studio or Road.
The flaws I can find are what was there when I got it. Some swirling in the slap area. Some string marks on the pickup covers. All normal wear for a 2003 model.
The bass weighs 9.75 lbs. according to the bathroom digital scale.
A real bargain at $585 shipped conus with a TKL hardshell.Or you can get it for $570 but no case.

I never tried it with the stock pups, I went ahead and had Big Singles put in. I traded it and still miss it, nothing else has had the muscle that one had (so far). |
