SOLD!
I've got a 2004 Ernie Ball Stingray 4H that I'm looking to sell. It's in excellent condition, although there are a good amount of scratches / dings on the back of it, which I've tried to capture in the pictures below.
Right now I've got it strung up with Labella flats on it, and I've got an aftermarket tortoiseshell pickguard on it. I also have the original black pickguard which I can place back on it, although the black one is pretty scuffed up, not nearly as nice as the tortoiseshell.
Cosmetically, the front of the bass (body, neck, and headstock) are in fabulous shape. It's hard to see any marks at all on the front (maybe some light scuffs on the pickguard).
On the back of the body, there's a good bit of belt-buckle rash, both on the body and the neck plate. There's also one small ding near the jackplate that chipped some of the paint off ... it's shown in one of the pictures. There's a scratch on the neck around the 9th fret ... it doesn't affect playability, but it is definitely visible, and finally, there are some small dings at the end of the headstock. They were difficult to capture with the camera, but I tried to get them. There's tarnish on the pole pieces, too ... tried to capture that in the pictures.
As far as sound / playability, it sounds fantastic! The neck is very straight (less than 0.010" relief at the 8th fret), and the action is very low (5/64 - 6/64 at the 17th fret, with absolutely no buzzing). The Labella flats are wonderful sounding ... think James Jamerson.
The case has some scuffs on the outside, but the inside is in perfect shape. I don't have the key for the lock.
I'm looking to get $850.00 shipped in the CONUS.
As far as trade bait, I'm really looking for a Stingray 4H in possibly a different color, in at least as good shape or better. I really like Black / Maple fb, or the Black Cherry Burst with a rosewood fingerboard. Maybe some other Stingray colors. Also, might be interested in a Fender USA Precision (black with maple board, or Charcoal Frost or Blizzard Pearl with Rosewood Board).
Here's a bunch of pictures:
