Talking 2004 Fender American Vintage ‘75 Jazz Bass

Thread Closed

Hello,

Up for sale is my 2004 Fender American Vintage ‘75 Jazz Bass with original light brown hard shell case. The instrument and case are in mint condition. I purchased it brand new from an authorized Fender dealer.

Neck is straight, action is terrific.

Solid ash body, maple neck and fingerboard. Weight = my best guess, 9 pounds (it seems lighter than a Rick 4003).

I’m asking $1,300.00 which includes shipping within the Continental United States.

Not interested in trades unless you have a Rickenbacker or Gibson Thunderbird bass that I don’t already have, and that’s in mint condition.

Here is the Fender site:
http://www.fender.com/products/searc...erican+Vintage

Thanks for looking!

Unhappy International shippments - I don't know the first thing about it.

Hello All,

Yes, I know what you mean. I've had a number of interested parties contact me from across the great pond, both by PM and email, as well as here on the thread. I could've sold about 10 of these by now!

I don't know the first thing about shipping to another country and from what little I've read it seems to have it's complications.

Please do not be offended.

I think for now I'll try to sell the bass within the continential United States.

Thank you for your interest.

If I didn't already have one I'd get this. Mine is a 2008!

Paid too much though.

Love the tone. Can't beat an American Jazz.

How does the neck feel in terms of finish, shape, and fret size?

I'm not sure how to answer that other than it is similar to a Gibson Thunderbird's neck. That was one of the things I liked about it, and that it can sound similar to a Rick 4003 when using the neck pickup only. Other than that, it's a typical Fender. If you are a Fender person it's a terrific bass. If not, it's not for you.

There are a number of other Jazz basses listed here on TB classified for less money. Mine is made in the USA and is part of the vintage series. I'm only pointing this out as it may help others looking at my bass. If price is an issue you may do well to look at an alternative. There are many fine instruments up for sale. It's a buyer's market to be sure.

Also, I've recieved a number of PMs and emails regarding the price. At this point the price is firm. I'm in no need to sell the bass. I don't play it often and thought I'd put it up if someone was interested in it.

Thanks again for everyone's interest.

Last bump of the year.

Any takers?

Here's a cool video to watch, or listen to while browsing the classifieds

I have one of these I got in 2000. (I think that was the 2nd year they were made.) It's really nice. I like the feel of the binding while playing. So smooth. It's just a well-made, attractive, and good-sounding bass all around...

I did that on the picture only, not the actual instrument, because I'm not comfortable posting the serial number in a public forum where anyone can access it. I'll share it with whomever is interested in purchasing the bass.

The top picture shows that the serial number is evedent, but not readable. Nothing on the instrument has been tampered with or altered. It's in mint condition.
