Just took this in trade. Not sure I'm going to hang on to it yet.
2006 White Skyline DJ5 w/maple board. These are now discontinued from Lakland and seem to be becoming harder to find. I was told by the original owner this has the Aero pickups in it. I haven't pulled them to confirm, but I can say it definitely sounds better than the last DJ5 I had with the Lakland pickups in it. The B string is thunderous on this one. Clear as a bell all the way up. Weight is somewhere in the high 9-low 10 lbs region. I don't have an accurate scale to get any closer than that. Comes with a US Lakland hard shell case. Dunlop strap locks. The bass has obviously been played (see the pics below), but there is nothing major, just a few bumps here and there that are not that bad. The frets are in great shape. Truss rod works perfectly. Electronics work perfect. If you want low action... this is the bass for you. This thing will get ridiculously low. Really looking to sell, but I'm open to a couple different items for trade. Price Drop for Today: $1350 shipped

Still bump for a sweet looking bass. | You would not find a US DJ5 either, this model was never made in the US. We are hoping that they make a 55-75 in the US but there are no plans for it yet. Either way, a Lakland Skyline usually beats the normal Fender production line bass in construction and playability. I bet you'd come ahead in the trade.
I have had several of those and kept one. They are not only sweet looking, they play and sound superb. They are magic. Buy it! |
