2007 Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass w/Aguilar obp-1 and a/p pull switch +more

For Sale:

A 2007 American Deluxe Jazz bass in pristine considition. Features the following...
- Smaller offset body with alder body
- 22 fret maple fret board with abalone dot inlays.
- SCN-Noiseless pickups.
- Hipshot Ultra light weight tuners
- Comes in Montego Black.

Upgrades include...
- Aguilar obp-1 preamp VVTB w/ active/passive pull switch
- Chrome knobs
- Graphite nut
- Fender High Mass Bridge (same found on later model american series fender basses)
- Flat black after market pickguard

I have used this bass for Reggae, Alternative, Blues, R&B, Rock, even a scattered country session. It sounds good in the studio. I like the combination of the pickups and preamp. I used to have a set of Lindy Fralins with the preamp but liked SCN pickups better (seemed like the bridge pickup had a bit more beef when I wanted to go from subdued to attack). It has never been in a room with cigarettes, has been my main axe and babied from the day I bought her. Had a setup done in the last two months. I have been the only owner.

I'm selling her because I've found P bass dynamics have been more suiting to my playing style.

Pics to come momentarily

I'm not sure of exact weight off hand but it's really light. For comparisons sake I have an American fender P and you can totally feel the difference.
It has the smaller offset premium alder body. Neck balance is good too.

These US Deluxe Jazz's are quality basses. I had one and replaced the stock preamp with an Audere. Not sure how the Aguilar sounds, but this has to be a big improvement.

GLWTS.

Its probably not as transparent as the Audere. But I really like where the q width is set. I found the stock preamp would suit one tone. With the stock preamp you can hear some tones on Rhonda Smiths rs2. It was a decent rnb tone but I could get a lot more usable tones with the obp-1 without getting away from the original tone of the bass. To my ear the fundamental tone is very reminiscent of some recent Christopher Wolstenholme tones. Call me crazy but I swear I'm not lying. These tones were easier to dial in too than with the original preamp. Im guessing the same for the Audere?

I just got my MM sterling today that is replacing it.
The MM is more aggressive (the reason for buying the MM) but the jazz does a good job of keeping up so much so that I'm already arranging to have an obp-1 put in the MM. As I find with these am dlx models they cover a lot of ground as is and have big control cavities for installing 18v preamps if you need something more fitting to your tastes.

This bass is a stunner. I got to play it at our local Bass store and Steve meticulously put this bass together using the best of the best. He even ordered custom pots from Mike Lull so that he could get the Push/pull for active passive.

The bass is very light and Steve I have a digital scale so if you want to bring it by the store tomorrow we can weigh it.

Steve has such a good eye and ear for bass tone, I think he should be designing basses!

GLWTS!
