2010 fodera emperor deluxe 5

Sign in to disble this ad
I had this up for sale and pulled the thread...... After much consideration I've decided I'm gonna let her go...... I play 10-12 gigs a month and I just can't take this to shows at clubs.....scared of it getting ding and bruised up.... I love the bass! I mean it's a fodera who wouldn't??!!
So someone has to play her!

Walnut body
Rainbow maple top (beautiful figuring)
35 in scale 19mm spacing
Maple neck
Kingwood board
Duncan dual coils
Latest pope preamp
Mint shape
I bought it brand new 5 months ago
Fodera teardrop hard case and tools etc

7500.00 FIRM FIRM no fee transaction USA only
I'll split shipping in the USA

I'd only consider a trade and 5000 cash...
So if you have a nice bass and 5k let me know

Mtd 535-24
A nice jazz 5
No Maple fretboards please

I know how you feel about the gig thing, I just sold all 6 of my Fodera's, I couldn't bring myself to take a mint Fodera to a club. That being said I miss them

I played this one, albeit unplugged, and it's really special. I did however hear Rich play it for a gig and it's killer in the mix.

Maybe there would be a market for relic Fodera basses. Then you wouldn't be afraid to take her out.

Let me play devil's advocate here for a moment and toss this out - I think that if I were Vinnie Fodera it would make me really sad to think that my instruments were not getting heard by live audiences lest they get slightly devalued by wear and tear. Isn't that what they are built for?

That's it, I'm done. By the way, bump for a gorgeous instrument, someone buy this and play a gig with it immediately!!! Go crazy and wear a belt buckle!!

Cheers!

What's the point of investing many thousands of dollars on an instrument if you're not going to play it live. If you're purely a collector and buying it as an investment I might understand if these basses appreciated in value year over year.

I can see your point though, that bass is almost too pretty to play lol.

I'm careful about where I bring my Fodera also. I keep other instruments of acceptable quality around so I don't have to bring my Fodera to a club where it's likely to get trashed by some drunken fool. I play it on most gigs but I definitely don't take it if I don't know what the scene will be like.

I'd definitely do the same, that's a reasonable approach.
