2011 Fender American Jazz Bass Deluxe 5 String

This is a sweet sounding and playing bass with low action. The string trees have been swapped for hip shots and the control plate matches the pickguard. I'm looking to sell it to purchase something else. I will have more details and more pics later on.

$1200 shipped

My 2010 version, which I got new from factory, did not have a vintage tint neck. It was a beautiful bright maple white. I've played the equivalent of 5 years worth of gigs in the just under 3 years I've owned mine, an the neck is darkening some, but not quite as tinted as this one appears. In fact, I noticed this one's darker neck an wondered myself if it hadn't been tinted, or, maybe it just the lighting in the pix. Free bump as I have this exact bass an it is the best bass I've played in a long an storied career as a bass an gear nut. Someone gonna get a REALLY nice instrument!

How is the B string? Have you compared with a Marcus Miller 5?

I have the exact same bass. The "B" is off the hook. Way better than MM's sig 5 bass

Killer price to boot

I have a 2011 American Deluxe Jazz V and I agree....the B string is ridiculous! It's super focused, articulate and rings like a 35" scale.

Weight is about 10 pounds. I got this bass in a trade and the control was already installed so I have no clue where it came from. It looks very cool though. Here are a few more pics.

Nice bass. I've been considering a new 2012 version. Question....when you switch over to passive mode how close to the true "Jazz bass" sound can you get? Obviously different pickups.

It sounds exactly like a true jazz bass should sound when in passive mode.

Also, any locals with a nice AR-15 we can talk about trades.

The B string on these basses are spectacular. I've played several versions of this bass, an they are consistently great playin/soundin instruments. I've discovered that they respond big time to different strings. ProSteels have mine soundin very Sadowsky like, modern mids an highs, clear articulate lows. Puttin DR Fatbeams puts this bass in the exact realm of my 70s Jazz. Tho a little more compressed, but more output an power. The electronics are matched perfectly, wit only a slight bit of boost goin to active from passive an no tone difference. If run each active control down a third, the output exactly the same, same great tone. The B is as good as any I've tried, an the Marcus 5 has a different neck profile I believe, but otherwise identical. The N3 pu's are stacked humbuckers, singles in the Marcus. I'd imagine a slight difference there. An theMarcus has a unique, two band pre. A lotta subtle differences makin this bass an the Marcus 5 different, but BOTH are great. This one sounds at LEAST as good as the Marcus, at quite a few pennies less, imho. Luck wit the sale, man. This bass too great ta sit.

Would you be interested in a trade. I'm selling one of my double basses to purchase exactly what you're selling. I'm looking for $2000 for the double bass, a bow, case and wheels.
