ID:	143637 I re-opened this thread, because I have decided that other projects need this money, more than I need to keep these. Prices are dropped too! The one with the truss rod cover is sold. The newer allen wrench style truss rod types are left. ONLY THE ONE WITH THE BARTS AND SCHALLER BRIDGE IS LEFT!!!!!

During the last two years of US production, in the 1990's, Peavey offered the Fury basses with a special order, painted neck option. I love a painted neck, and all of my basses are that way. To me, they just feel slipperier, and easier for my hand to slide on the neck. Anyway, I have only seen 4 of these painted ones in my lifetime, 3 of them are mine. I also have never seen another color. Black may be the only way they came. These Furys have a slimmer neck than a jazz bass, and are a super fast neck. One of mine has what must have been one of the last of the necks with a truss rod cover and the hex nut trussrod. The other two are the newer style with the Allen wrench design. Two of these are stock, one of them has been up-graded to a Schaller Roller Bridge, and a set of 8S Bartolini pickups. They all are set up with a low action, and they all play just great. I've played earlier ones, and they just don't seem as good as these ones from the end of the US made ones. It seems just as the guitar shop finally had them done perfectly, production ended. Sad.

These are a great giging bass, because the money invested is not so much as it would break the bank if some drunk broke it. And it has been nice to have another that's just the same for a back up. The frets on all of them look just like new. All truss rods work just fine. These are a bass that you can make a living with. Just can't beat a Peavey bass IMHO.

These all 3 play just great!

OK Money------ 175.00 shipped for the stock one and 250.00 shipped for the one with the Bartolini's and the Schaller Roller Bridge, and a factory case! Good Prices for great, and rare Peavey basses. I know I'll regret selling these.

Each one of them has a few nicks in the black paint, and each has a 1/2inch chip missing, each in a different spot on the body, and none are chipped on the neck, but they are just masked with the quick wipe of a black marker. All were done before they were in my hands. Buy 2, so you have your backup bass at the ready, as I did. I'm in the studio mostly now, and these have been getting no love.
I'm really gonna' miss these guys.

Please describe the sound of the stock pickups. Are any of the neck profiles flat and wide?

IMHO, they have a much fuller sound and are more versatile sounding than a P bass. Flat and wide is the neck of a P bass. Thats what I don't like. These are narrower and less thick than a jazz bass neck is by far. These I'd say are more like the neck of an old 1963 Thunderbird, that I used to play back in the day, but even that Tbird was a thicker neck than these Fury's have.

I have 2 US Fury basses, and they are rock 'n' roll machines. The necks are slightly smaller than a Fender Jazz neck, and they are fast as a shite-house mouse. Killer p-bass tone.

Fury lovin' bump.

More pics of the last one, the one with the Bartolini pickups, and the Schaller roller bridge, as the Peavey Dynabass came with from the factory.
