60's Kay KB-2 Shortscale MIJ

This is a very cool bass, but Im getting ready for a move across country this fall and everything I own has to fit in one car(including my dog). So I have to let my non essential instruments go.

From what Ive put together this is a 60's era Kay KB-2, most likely made by teisco. 30 inch scale, Everything is 100% functional, but the pots can be a scratchy at times. The bass has a low-med action with the truss rod is backed off, and some slight shimming to to the neck pocket. This bass is very playable, and has a really rude/ low growley sound to it.

The last one of these listed since Ive been watching went for $215 plus shipping on ebay. So I'd like to get $150, and split the shipping, which should be like 10-15 bucks because I plan on taking the neck off so I can pack it better. Local pick is OK BTW.

Sorry about the Pics, it was an overcast day today.

I really shouldn't be considering this, but I'd love to hear what this sounds like. Any sound clips?

I recently bought an old tascam dp-01 but Im still trying to figure out how to get it to work. So soundclips may be a while.

I'm interested. Two questions:

a) can you tell me some about those pups?

b) how heavy is it?
