I have a 1972 Fender Jazz, refinished in Daphne blue. Maple board with black binding and blocks. I purchased it a few years ago from a guitar store in Canada for $2450. Here is the information I was given.
Original body
Original neck
Original tuners
replacement p/u's (fender 60's cs)
replacement pickguard
replacement bridge
Pots?
Unbelieveable tone and playabillity. One chip in the paint at the truss rod adjustment screw (done after this pic was taken, I will try to get a new pic soon). I pulled the neck and it is stamped Feb. 73 which is consistant with the information they gave me. I have what may or may not be the original tweed case, but I don't know how to tell for sure. It is pretty beat, but will get it there safely. Or I can ship in an SKB HSC if you would rather go for practicallity over vintage.
As far as trades, I am interrested in (all 4 strings).
MTD 435
Ken Smith Neck thru
Warwick Infinity
Sadowsky NYC
Alembic
Other high end Warwicks (partial trade)
Roscoe (partial trade)
Birdsong (partial trade)
I will entertain other offers.
Thanks for looking

Wouldn't this be a 73 Jazz?

Do you have a weight?

Essentially, if it's Fender, 137(CTS) then 4 digits, year then week
GE- Serial number on the plate, not until late '76 did it switch to headstock
Beautiful bass |

Thanks.

Thanks. |

be the latest date found on the instrument. IE heel stamp. |

Obviously age and wear is going to make a difference to exact colour tones!
