I'm going to give a VERY thorough description. This is something that MOST people do not do and then you go to look at the instrument and end up with things that you were not expecting. I'm disclosing everything that I'm aware of after a very thorough inspection. Don’t be alarmed as the bass is in overall good shape and plays extremely well in my opinion and sounds GREAT!
A beautiful 1976 Precision Bass. Nice ash body and weighs just 8.8 lbs on my postal scale. Very light for a 70's ask bodied P! Yes, she's in players condition. Some dings, some chips, etc, but she plays and sounds GREAT. Action is medium height and all notes ring great and true on the neck (no dead spots even in the areas that have wear on the lower side, all notes play great up and down the neck) Neck also has a bit of finish wear on underside (below G string) but it is only cosmetic and does not affect playability. See picture link below for additional pictures.
She's almost entirely all original. I know that one pot was replaced (tone) with a late model CTS 250k audio taper, but the volume pot appears to be original. All other electronics are original. Tuners are a bit stiff from being in storage, but should loosen up with regular use and/or oiling. They ARE functional and keep the bass in tune! The G tuner is slightly bent, but also functional. There is some finish checking/chipping on the headstock, but it's structurally sound. Strings are mildly used D'Addario Chrome Flats that I just put on her (broken-in, but sound great and plenty of life left on them). I'm not sure if the pickguard screws, vol/tone chrome knobs and thumb rest are original or not. They are Fender, but look to be in great shape which makes me wonder about those pieces (because the rest of the bass has a bit more wear on her). They are minor pieces and very well could be original, but I'm not 100% sure. The pickguard itself and everything else on the bass appears to be original to the best of my knowledge. I've also taken a ton of pictures (again, link for additional pictures below).
Neck dates 1975, body dates 1976, pickups date 1976. Volume and tone knobs work great and no crackle and no unwanted noise.
Truss turns and works and the end (phillips head) is in good shape as you can see. Comes with a Fender USA case. Handle, metal feet, hinges, exterior and interior in good shape, but the latches on the top need replacing.
I'll now include a real 70's Fender Tolex case from this same era. This is the case I'm including for free (in place of the 80's case) ---> Real 70's Fender Hardshell Case (wood/tolex) $80!
You don't see too many sunburst ash bodied P basses with a maple neck and ones that weigh just 8.8 lbs from this era are almost impossible to find. Most 70's as P basses weigh 10 - 13 lbs. This is a rare one!

http://s241.photobucket.com/albums/f...0P%20Fretless/ Price? For now it's $1375 firm. There was a '78 that just sold on Ebay in about the same shape for $1800 + ship, so I think the price is fair. I may consider lowering it in a week or two if it does not sell, but again, price is firm right now.
