SOLD is a totally rockin' 34 yr. old P bass. This has been covering all my P bass needs for a number of years, but I just bought a Fender CS P so...
Matsumoku Japan made in 1977, it is an Aria Pro II Precise Bass (check the headstock decal for a chuckle). The body wood is unknown and it's been decently refinished in a LPB. It has a Seymor Duncan 1/4 Pounder that is really hot. The tone is in your face, ballsy and loud. Listen to the intro to 'Mystery Achievement' by the Pretenders and that's it. Strung with Chromes. I upgraded to a BadAss II, the original bridge is included.
It has a chubby 'A' width neck! I have the Jazz cousin to this guy and the necks are not the same. It really is like a 70's 'A' neck P, narrow but full profile. No dings or wear spots on this neck. Frets are really good, nothing needed there. The original tuners are high quality and tension can be adjusted with the included nifty mini wrench. Original HSC in good condition. Overall a very 'live' feeling bass with good resonance and sustain. Not heavy, about 9 lbs I'd estimate.
I'm swearing off PayPal$425 plus shipping. Less than I paid (and you are getting that BadA$$ too). This is good enough to be your #1, or a backup that will hold it's value down the line.

Well blow me down, cheap scale says 10 lbs. It also says I'm 163 which is a total lie. I'm bettin' it's the light side of 10. Nut is 1 1/2" plus a hair.
You may notice the old bridge screw holes there in front of the BadAss. We mounted it a bit farther back so we could correct a slight mis alignment with the old bridge position.
