'78 Peavey T-40 F/T

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm putting up my natural '78 Peavey T-40 for trade. I bought this recently from TBer Redstrand a few months ago. It's just too heavy for me anymore.

I'm looking specifically for either a nrmt Foundation or Dyna in return....straight up swap....possibly a USA Millenium.

I'm at work right now and will post pics when I get home but this is a very clean T-40. Patents applied for neck. Excellent frets. Neck is straight. No issues except for replacement phase and pickup selector switches (I have NOS correct replacements that I will include with the trade). Original early rectangular HSC in excellent condition.

Again, I'll post pics when I get home.

If you have a Dyna or Foundation, or Millenium, hit me up!

Here's the original sale thread:

FS: Peavey T-40 & SX 5'er w/Audre JZ Preamp and Lakland PU's

Ok....pics are here. There is a lot of "worming" on the back of the body but the finish is still on there. No bare wood. It's a great sounding T-40 and one of the earliest production.

I might open this up for sale but would rather trade for the moment.

As promised:

Hopefully someone else will chime in on this one....I'm not a slap player at all. Thanks for the interest though.

Any other slappin' T-40 owners out there that can help answer?

??

I'm not trying to be a smart alec, but what is a nrmt foundation? I have a Foundation, but I have no idea if it is a nrmt.

I brought this bass into the TB world. Found it on my local CL. When I first saw it it was a mess. Cleaned it up, replaced the broken switches, changed the strings, set it up and it was reborn. At 10.2 lbs it is one of the lightest T-40s I have seen. I did this for a couple of these gems that I ran across. Made me feel like I was running some sort of T-40 rescue. Glad to see this bass is still within the family. Good luck with the trade. If I had what you wanted I'd be all over it.

Thanks Simon,

She really is a player. The neck and frets are in great condition. Open to other trade offers now.

Unfortunately, as I still own my first gig bass, a T40, they dont slap well. The neck pup is right where you don't want it to be. Do-able. yeah, but this is a finger funkin' mutha to be sure.

BUIMP!!
