Here is a very cool Rick bass. In its past life, someone decided it should be customized and had it finished in a translucent purple. The PO had it refretted and removed the finish from the fingerboard. In the pictures, you will see a strange strat pickup in the bridge position. I have removed that and replaced it with a SD quarter lb single coil P pickup. (it sounds like a 60's Rick now!) The purple pickup has also been replaced with a SD Rick pickup because it needed a rewind. I have one pic that I took before taking it to a luthier to have cleaned and adjusted. The tuners are brand new black hipshot replacements, no new holes were drilled. It is wearing black schaller strap locks that had been put there by the PO. Wiring is all OG and the cap has been removed and can be included with the bass in the sale. It is a pretty fast neck and very straight.
This bass draws a LOT of attention when I have used it in a session and out live.
Because of what it is, I am asking 1100.00 plus ship.
Try to find a GOOD Rick for a decent price these days!!! Only reason for me to part with this one is because I have another bass to pay for. Email/PM with questions...
Comes with a hard case for travelling and I am in the process of putting Rick pickups back in it. New pics will follow soon!

I am having the ends dressed better than they are. They are level. The only odd thing was how the binding was done, instead of going around the binding, the slots were cut through it. No biggie but it is there. |

So here we go, I recently had the bass checked out. There was a slight separation at the nut where someone had tightened the rods too much. I had that repaired by a local luthier so there is a SMALL amount of the purple missing along that line. Pics will be posted for anyone who wants to see. The frets are new/like new and have no player wear on them. It thumps like a Rick and the neck is pretty slim. It is currently wearing EB Slinkies 45-100....and no, Prince has not called to ask for it back!!!!! LOL
here is my friend who repaired it for me http://redentoreguitars.com/ |

Also have some Rick pickups coming to put it back as all Rick stuff. Still no trades but found a hard case I can now ship in. Will be replacing the basslines pups with Rick....new pics will follow as soon as I change out the pickups.... |
