FS/FT FEELER:
For your consideration, a good sounding and playing '82 Precision with a '79 serial number.
This bass is almost as I got it, with the exception of the bridge. I removed an old Schaller roller style in favor of a standard Fender model. This bass came to me with early, embossed logo EMG pickups (the pots are the nylon shaft ones and are very smooth and quiet), a original (Schaller gear) HipShot Extender, and a early WD Music Products tort pickguard. The volume and tone knobs are replacements, as well.
The finish on the neck shows some wear on the edges. A recrowning was done on the big fat JUMBO frets, sometime before I got it. The action, as it is now, @ the 12th fret, is 3/16" on the E and 1/8" on the G. If you dig in a bit, the G string will buzz a little. It's nothing major. It's strung with D'Addario XL 170s (45, 65, 80, 100) There is a slight ding in the back of the neck. It can be felt when playing. It's not deep or large enough to bother me and I'm picky about that. The body has dings in it, but none are through the paint. All the tuners work smoothly and have a matching patina. The truss rod turns smoothly and works well.
It's a very light 8 lbs. 7 oz. on my digital shipping scale.
