80's mij squier/fernandes jazz bass

Sign in to disble this ad
so this bass is a culmination of projects. the body from the bass is from one of these-
FS/FT E7 series Squier Jazz 62 RI- MINT
same year-1987.
its an E series japanese squier jazz bass. next series after the SQ series i believe.

the neck on this is from the mij teal fernandes jazz i had for sale last month. i ended up using the body from that bass to mount my neck off of my 64 p bass while its getting refinished because i like the color.

the original neck from this bass went on another project. what youre left with is a bass thats still 100% mij. 80's squier and early 90's fernandes. great playability and sound. better than the majority of mexican standard fenders out there. the bass weighs in at 8.5 pounds on my bathroom scale.

the body from the squier has been around the block. that bass was played. numerous dings and finish wear as well as buckle wear on the back. a real road worn which can be seen in the pics.

260 shipped via usps parcel post. will be shipped wrapped in bubble wrap/news paper and boxed. no case or gig bag included.

heres the original neck off of the body so you can verify the made in japan squier E series decal.

heres a body shot. a mij body just sold for 210 here

in my experience, Fernandes have some of the most comfortable, wonderful necks ever. Does that hold true for this bass, too?

Free bump and a confirmation on the nice Fernandes necks. I recently rehabbed a Fernandes Jazz of the same vintage and I'm really digging the neck.

I picked up this 1996 Fernandes bass recently. I was very surprised by how nice it felt and how good it sounded. I am kind of a p bass guy but it is nice to have a j type guitar that sounds good but maybe does not have the price tag.

Not sure if it was made in Japan or Korea but it does not matter. The quality is good for its intended purpose.

while it is a japanese fernandes neck, remember the other half of this thing is an 80's japanese squier. my 80's mij squier p gets a TON of gig time and hangs with all the high end basses i own.
