Here is a mid 80's Schecter J bass in very good shape. Just set up and new Daddario XL's put on. Great tone for a passive bass. Hot pickups with the usual push/pull coil tap that all Schecters of this era had. Nice Brazilian rosewood FB. Body sounds and feels like ash. Snappy high end and deep lows. These 80's Schecter basses are great. I have owned (and still do) at least half a dozen of them and none were lemons. Comes with a gig bag. Shipping is a straight $40 insured to lower 48 states and actual shipping charges apply elsewhere. Thanx.
$400 obo

Weight is on the heavy side......around 11 lbs. Killer slap tone for a passive bass. I know everyone is going light weight these days. My main axe is a Marleaux Jbass 5 and it weighs around 12 lbs. The most killer slap tone and all the other J bass tones that you would need. I just never am able to get the tone I like out of light basses. Thanx. |

That was a heavy bass too but just slammin and had an old school V profile to the neck. Must have had a terrible camera back then.......

"Q: How can I date my old (pre ´89) Schecter guitar? A: Due to Schecter´s beginnings as a ´replacement part´ company, there are many bootlegged Schecter guitars on the market. The company is now and has been owned by a new owner since 1989 (when the company was moved back to California from Dallas, Texas). These guitars can be dated by serial number. We would be happy to attempt to date your instrument, but you will need to mail photos and a description to us. Please make sure to photograph the headstock (front & back) and the neck plate. No guarantee, but we will try!"
I never got a response way back when..... |

I'm gonna take it apart today to verify for a buyer that this is indeed a USA Schecter and I'll post pics of what I find. Definitely has those old Schecter PU's with larger pole pcs. and hot output. Also has the Schecter push/pull on the bridge volume for series/parallel operation. Stay tuned..... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
