Here's a sharp 80s Schecter Jazz Bass. Sort of a vintage J bass meets modern black hardware look on this one. Since there's no serial number on the neckplate, this one appears to be an old self-build starting with the Schecter USA neck and not a factory built one. I've had this one for about ten years just as you see it but haven't played it much. I'm not much of an active player and I recently picked up an 80s Schecter PJ that's passive, so it's time to part ways with this one.
So here's the specs:
Schecter USA maple cap black dot neck with Fender style headstock.
Black vintage routed body, looks like poly finish over alder.
Black hardware - Badass II bridge, Gotoh aluminum plate Kluson reverse wind keys, all other hardware looks like Gotoh...
Pickups look like older SJB-1 Vintage Duncans.
Unknown 2-band active preamp setup vol/vol/stacked tone(maybe EMG?).
Brass nut.
Nitrate tortoise guard.
Weight TBA
The neck is the smallest and thinnest 1-1/2" Jazz neck I've ever owned - it's crazy thin and I've never had to touch the truss rod. Bass has typical playwear but not too bad, frets not showing much. The finish on the bridge has rubbed to nickel in most places and there is some hanger rash on one side where the headstock and neck meet. The rest of the black hardware looks fine and the body looks really good with no major finish flaws. It has a real poured nitrate guard and the top tortoise layer is starting to shrink and curl on the edges. Sounds like an active J Bass should...has the typical hum when one pickup is panned due to having the true single coils. There is no battery route - the battery is tucked under the pots - so you could easily go back to passive if you like.
How about $475 shipped in a new padded gig bag. USA 48 only - Paypal only.
Hold is now off....this one's back up for sale as of 3/27....
