The extra knob and switch are related to the active electronics in this bass. It's one of the first active fender basses ever. Extremely smooth, slender, fast neck. Great sound. And if this is my old bass, it was played by Jaco at the White Lion for a few months before he died, and after he'd sold, lost or pawned his basses. He borrowed this one so he'd have something to play during a months long stint at the White Lion in Florida. |

Yes, this is your old bass. I had Ed Reynolds (luthier extrodionare) clean the electronics, install a new nut and do a set up with TI Jazz Flats right before Christmas. Ed said this was one of the most resonate basses he’s ever heard. It looks, sounds and plays great.
The controls are volume, treble (boost/cut), bass (boost/cut) & active/passive switch. |

Considering any trades? If you're still gassing for a '62 Jazz (like most of us!) I can't really help, but do have the next best thing. A beautiful Jan. '83 Fullerton '62 Jazz in Vintage White with tort guard. Not REAL sure I wanna do it, but really do love your Special! Whaddya think? |
