'82 Rickenbacker 4001 Jetglo -- $1500 b/o

Sign in to disble this ad
plays great, sounds great, completely unmodified by my count. recently set up by Pete Schmidt (the man to go to in the wny area). has some wear and tear but definitely nothing terrible or over the top, just standard 27 year old bass play wear. only getting rid of it because the low output pickups aren't hot enough for the bands I'm currently in, and despite the fact that it sounds incredible and the slim 80's neck plays ridiculously fast, it's simply not loud enough, and I refuse to modify this.

comes with hardshell case.

any questions? need more pictures? feel free to ask.
the pictures below are taken to show the worst of the wear, it's way less noticable without a cheap camera flash on a black finish.

$1500 or b/o, price includes shipping, paypal preferred.

maybe an older fender p bass? earlier in the 70's the better? I obviously am not meriting any collector's pieces or 60's basses with this 4001 here, but I'd definitely trade for a nice older precision. bursts preferred, dinged up is absolutely fine by me as long as it functions fine.

Wavy Grovers on an '82? I thought RIC stopped using them by then....hmm. The tuners alone are worth $200+ if they don't explode...lol.

yeah, serial on rickenbacker site checks it to August of 1982, which does made the wavy grovers weird but I love 'em. played this against my jazz last night and forgot how fast this neck was, makes me sad again to attempt to part with it.

bump. got some decent trade offers for 70's precisions. will consider more of those if anyone has any, no decision made yet. also would consider 08/09+ precision in tort/burst + significant cash.

My '82 jetglo 4001 has the same type of Grover tuners...so they're not that rare...
