'83 Fullerton Fender (USA) Precision w OHSC, Light Weight & LOWER PRICE

NO TRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, hell of a price for a hell of a bass. Most of you know the deal with the Fullerton made basses. Hopefully I have the story right, but as I recall, in the early 80's, Fender started making basses again in the old, original Fullerton plant where the instruments in the 50's and 60's were made and used the same tooling. This was a short run and the instruments were said to be superior to instruments of the 70's and as well as after the Fullerton era (mid 80's till now). Not a lot of these around.

Body, pots, pickups, appear to be all original. Tone is really, REALLY good. No issues with the electronics.

As you can see, the case is almost dead mint! Looks new! Latches, hinges, etc like new. No issues.

So why the cheap price when most Fullerton Fenders sell for $1200 - $2600 here (there is one for for sale for $2600 right now here on TB)???? Well I bought the all original loaded body from a guy that sold the neck a long time ago. Why he did this is beyond me. I think he thought that he could get more profit this way. Hell, the loaded Fullerton body alone is prob worth what I am asking for the bass. And an 80's USA case in the condition has to be worth at least $100 - $150.

So I bought a VERY sweet USA made Warmoth neck with vintage finish (a vintage finish P neck from them is about $300 new). It's a GREAT neck and has brand new Wilkinson tuners on her (equal in quality to Schallers IMHO). They turn very smooth. Neck mates up very well to the body (small gap on each side, but certainly very acceptable and I've seen worse on many new Fenders). I put a Fender decal on the neck with couple coats of clear to keep it there. Neck has a couple of small dings on side of the first couple of frets, but they do not effect anything.

Setup is PERFECT. Low action, no buzz. Amazing player and just 8.5 lbs! So you can score this for a HELL of a lot less than just about any other Fullerton out there! I doubt that this will be here long. I'm going to list this on Cragis and possibly Ebay as well.

Pic of original neck NOT included with the bass (got the pic from the original owner).

NEW LOWER PRICE $739!!!!! I doubt that you will find an older, better playing, better sounding P for that money. It's a VERY sweet bass! I also just put brand new round wounds on her (45 - 105). Won't need strings for a while and that saves you some $ also.

That is a great-looking P, man. And you know I love me some Precision sweetness from this era. I really wish I had some $$ in the ol' bass account. What's the neck profile like?

More of an old-school P neck. 1.75" wide nut. It's a "C" profile.

To the top! I have a local (from CraigsList) coming by to check her and my other P out. This may be the last chance to get this bass here on TB!
