1983 (I think) Peavey T-40, made in USA. You know the deal on these, and all of it is true: tonal versatility like you wouldn't believe, and weight to match. It'll sound like any bass you want it to, and I don't have an accurate scale but it's heavy.
The finish might be stripped, as it appears to have no clear coat (although a fellow TBer says this may be original?). Otherwise it's all original. Everything works, and it's a good player. The only issues are a little scratchiness in the switches (need cleaning), and you can see a small spot where a previous owner glued a crack on the plastic pickup mounting ring (bridge pickup). No case, other than a beat-up chipboard thing that I can ship it in for a little extra protection.
I'll sell it for $295 plus actual shipping (you pay me the 295, I ship it, then I send you the shipping amount and you pay that), but I'm very interested in trades too. Looking for anything interesting in trade: old hollowbody, old MIJ Yamaha/Ibanez/whatever, oddball stuff. Also interested in vintage Precision parts (body, neck, guard, pickup, etc.) Maybe a Classic Vibe Squier, or maybe even some amp gear (lightweight cab especially). Let me know what you have..I'm not into modern looking basses really, but doesn't hurt to inquire about anything.

Look at the headstock shot on this one and you get a good idea how clean this bass really is.
Free bump, by the way, by a Peavey fan.

| | | | I'm very interested in this but the "chipboard thing for a little extra protection" makes me nervous. Can you elaborate?

| | | | Sure, I don't care about the case, I'm just not clear on how it will be protected from shipping.
