'84 Hofner 500/1, Sorkin, American distributor, 20th Anniversary model, 1964-1984. Shape overall 8/10 for it's age. Specific wear...swirl scratches on back, natural checking starting now...top, two very small impressions in the finish (hard to get a picture of)....neck, one small 1/4 inch by 1/8 inch divot by the fourth fret, fill in and revarnish done by Mark Balash over at Berkley Music in beautiful downtown Berkley MI (excellent work)....you can see it but can't feel it. Otherwise, one piece maple neck in beautiful shape (lovely and balanced color fade from both fret edges downwards. Tuners, closed metal, not the usual open pearls....double adjustable tilt wooden bridge with metal inserts for string guides to the trapezoid tailpiece. All metal parts are fading naturally. An rch over 1 1/2" at the nut and first fret marker.
Sound....I bought this a few years ago to record with. I never gigged with it. It sounds great....beautiful thud with ariticulate highs. Always preferred the blade pickups over the staples. Very fast, stable and solid neck. Wearing D'addario chrome flats...aged just right. I wouldn't change them. Comes with Les Paul style case with foam inserts so it doesn't move around. $1400 shipping DHL...we'll discuss.
