He said that the bass is genuine and that the pattern on the graphite is called a "satin weave." Apparently this bass was made during a transitional period where they used cloth instead of all tape. Geoff said he's almost certain the bass would have been made in the mid-80s, and certainly before '89, so that is consistent with the original owner saying that he bought it in '85. He could not confirm that it was made for Jack Casaday.
As far as the serial number is concerned, he said that back then, they didn't give ANY neck through basses a serial number because they considered each to be so unique. |

Geoff Gould told me that this was a one of a kind custom Modulus. So it would not be possible to see a bass of this kind on ebay. However, Modulus Quantum basses do come up on ebay often. |
