SOLD: Fender 40th Anniversary Precision, Born October 25, 1991 in the Fender Custom shop. This is #146 of 400. Tiger flame maple top with amber finish, figured and birdseye'd maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Lace Sensor P/J Pick ups with Kubicki active pre-amp. The bass comes with its certificate of authenticity from the Custom Shop and it's original red lined tweed case. The bass is in great shape and shows virtually no signs of being played aside from a few very light (and impossible to photograph) surface scratches. The truss rod turns fine and it weighs in at a just a hair over 9 lbs. on the bathroom scale. The bass is all original except for the battery connector for the pre-amp. I'm pretty sure it still had the original battery in it when I got it, and it had disintegrated and the terminals were stuck in the battery connector. I snipped it and attached a new one, but saved both the original connector and the battery. The pre-amp and rest of the electronics work fine and the bass shows no harm from the battery issue. Not only is this a collector's piece, but it's also collector quality. The frets have no wear, the metal has no loss of plating or pitting; the back control cavity still has the plastic on it!
