'91 Modulus Quantum 4 $1200

Sign in to disble this ad
Now $1150 shipped!!

Up for grabs, '91 Modulus Q4 that plays and sounds great! Here are some specs:

*Cocobolo top
*EMG pickups
*Active 2-band Eq
*Gold hardware, very clean
*35" scale
*Very slim neck profile, plays fast!

I believe the body is made of ash (not completely sure). The sound is very punchy, clean and articulate as you would expect from a Quantum. Now the bad part. Many years ago this bass was dropped by a previous own and a small part of the lower horn cracked off. It was then professionally repaired and the repair job is solid. I bought it post-repair and it's very stable (there's no real stress on this part of the bass anyway). The job was so well done that up close it merely looks like there is a crack in the finish -- you wouldn't guess it goes all the way through the wood. This defect is comestic and doesn't affect the performance of the bass in any way. But, due to the damage I'm pricing this low at $1200 plus shipping $1150 shipped(hardcase included).

Here's a pic of the repair. Because it's such a clean repair job, it's really hard to notice in pics and in real life. Look for a break in the finish close to parallel with the grain

I'll consider trades, but primarily interested in a cash sale.

Price drop to $1150 shipped! This has an extremely thin neck profile, typical of early 90s Modulus basses. In my opinion this profile is extremely comfortable for us players with smaller hands. You can easily fly on this bass!

I agree! Surprised I haven't sold it yet. It's getting hard to fight not taking it off the market

Looking at the logo, I would say that this Quantum does not have a truss rod.

Bump for a great Mod!

Correct, there is no truss rod and it doesn't need it. The neck is super straight. This was made in '91; it wasn't until years later that Modulus started adding truss rods.
