'94 Alembic Essence in Excellent Condition

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so for some reason my bandmates insist on me using my Warwick Thumb, so I'm cleaning out house. With the flamed maple top, this bass is one of the more exquisite looking Essence basses that I have seen.

*Maple body with beautifully flamed maple top
*Matching flamed maple headstock (flamed on front and back)
*Maple neck through body with Ebony fretboard
*Frets look almost new and neck is straight with no issues
*Gold hardware
*Alembic pickups and 9V active electronics (volume, pan and filter)

This bass sounds spectacular. Thunderous lows and smooth articulate highs. Can get both great slap tones as well as fingerstyle. Plays great too. Has some minor bucklerash and a couple of very shallow dings on the front, but overall in excellent condition for a 17 year old bass.

Feel free to email me for more pics.
Asking $1675$1550.

The band pays a lot of my bills so that's not really an option.

I would be telling them what I am gonna use. Who/what gave your "mates" ( if we can call em that ) the idea that Warwick is the answer? Do you guys cover music of a band or bands whose bass players use only Warwick ? I don't get it?!
Bump for a bass player that is being squeezed by his band mates. Hmmm it's funny how bass players get little to no respect for their involvement in bands. I usually get "well he has a 1200 watt head and a 1000 watt cab he doesn't need to go thru the PA or the monitors". GLWTS of your bass

I agree, it really surprises me that the Warwick is preferred to the Alembic. Your band mates must have a veeeery particular taste, with all the respect.

Do they really spend enough time out front to know what you (or for that matter, they) actually sound like? On stage sound is not representative of anybody's sound. Neither is rehearsal hall sound. I suspect you know more about your bass sound than they do.

Haha. This is hilarious. Not one response by anyone interested in buying your bass. Only those trying to talk you out of it. Maybe you should take the hint.

It doesn't realy matter to me that much. It's a rock cover band. My job is to lock with drummer and the drummer just loves the sound of my Warwick thumb. So it helps us lock better. Maybe it has something to do with this particular bass cutting through my guitarist's particular tone. Or maybe the sound of my thumb just resonates with my playing style. I don't know. Bottomline is the thumb gets the job done, and since its the all maple limited edition blond, it's the the lightest bass in my collection (something like 7 lbs!). My band is happy. My back is happy. Need I say more? I'm sure there is someone out there that can use this Alembic much more than I can these days. It's too good of a bass to just sit in its case. Let's find this bass a good home!

On the bathroom scale, it was just under 9lbs, so it's pretty light for an Alembic. PM me your email address and I can send you more pics.

Ah, nice one. Good luck with it. I've always liked the Essence shape - I think it's a good fit for their bridge & headstock designs. I still kind of miss the Europa I had many years ago. Bump.

2 years from now, when you're not with that band anymore perhaps somebody will sell it back to you.
