Hey all so if uve seen my NBD thread ,this is the fallout haha. I've owned a lot of precisions including a 83 mij jv fender I just sold that was close to the feel of this one.I debated on selling this once in the past and had a buyer ,but I backed out because how well this one plays.
So now I have some clear motivation on selling this baby as I really want to finish my 77 stingray so for your consideration is my 95 mij 62 precision reissue in 3 tone sunburst with tort guard,1.625 nut width with a tinted laquered neck that feels superb. Old school threaded bridge that let's you choose your spacing and alignment, the truss rod is located at the end of the neck and has the extra strap button on the headstock.
The bass has some scruffs including a chip located near the input jack , some very fine lines in the finish on the back of the body, along with some minor nicks and scrapes throughout. There is also a small nick in the near the 3rd fret that has seamed with the neck but is worth mentioning. All the wear look consistent and aren't really distracting , you can tell its just player wear rather than deliberate damage.
Right now its wearing some nice TI jazz flats that sound amazing , I play punk rock and this has been my go to bass for about a year, the ti's really help me cut through and adds some noticable mids. The frets are in good condition with little pitting and little visible string wear. The setup on this bass is set to low and even with the ti's low tension there is no string buzz or dead notes on the fretboard. The truss rod is also fully functioning and turns easily the last time I set it up earlier this year.
In the pics you can see I installed a pair of 80's dimarzio pups but I will let the buyer choose whether they want the stock or the dimarzios.
The difference I can note in the tone is the dimarzios are hotter in the mid register letting you sound grindy with the tone up and of course still have the thumpy classic p sound with the tone rolled back. I actually like the way the pickup responds to the tone control,
The stock pickup has the old school ground plate to me is more vintage sounding retaining the classic p sound we all know and love. I remember loving the tone instantly when I first plugged her in so I'm not saying these are inferior,I just wanted to see how the dimarzios sounded, I actually like both though
So as for the price id like to get as close to $550 shipped as I can and I'm not looking at trades at the moment other than possibly an impossible to find pre eb stingray bridge with mutes hah. Please shoot me a pm if interested, will ship in a gig bag.
