'99 Wal MK-III 5 String ($4500/obo)

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for grabs is my '99 Wal MK-III 5 string with Shedua facings. The electronics function as they should and the overall condition is "as new". There really isn't a blemish to be found. The action is low and buzz free. Comes with a Hiscox hardshell case. I've only had it a brief time and the reason I'm selling is that the opportunity has come up for me to move from the city to the country so sacrifices must be made (unfortunately).

$4500/OBO plus exact shipping.

Thanks!

No biggie Mike.....it is what it is. I could keep it and stay in my current home or sell it to make things easier to obtain the "dream" property that my wife and I have wanted. Easy decision.

It's a fantastic Wal that I bought at a bad time. At least Paul is making them again so they are available new......quite a bit more expensive but at least available.

... you mean it hasn't?

This is about the cheapest I've seen one sell for here on TB!
Plus ... it's here in the US. ... no import taxes!

Good luck with the sale ... wish I had the scratch.

I have two Mark III Wal 5s and they are the most comfortable basses I have ever played. Mine are in the 9 lbs. range. Perfectly balanced, fit great on your body,...like an extension of it....wonderful basses that are wonderful to play that cut through like no other.

That is a real beauty. I have no interest whatsoever in a fiver. I did, however want to ask a general question about Wal basses.

I have yet to find a bass that plays better than a Cirrus, in every respect. I've owned countless basses and the Cirrus are the only basses I own now.

As I am IGNORANT up front, how does the Wal feel compared to the Cirrus ? Personally, Geddy's tone on "HOLD YOUR FIRE" is about as perfect as bass tone can get. If I ever had an extra $5k laying around (that was a joke you know) would I be happy with a Wal as a Cirrus guy ?

This also equates to a BUMP if nothing else.

Thanks - Mike B.

That's a beautiful bass! I've always just loved Wal's Shedua.

I can understand the need for cash for your property purchase. I would trade my vintage Fender Jazz in a heartbeat for this bass.

I've had 2 Mk II fivers and a Mk III fiver would probably be total bass nirvana.

Shedua facings are the dogs bollocks over the mahogany body too!

I can't believe it took that long! I know the economy is bad, but I would've thought this would've sold quickly at $5500!
