Acacia Custom 6 FS/FT Fender Jazz 4

I'm looking to give up the Acacia. I just don't play it enough and I've never had a Fender...so I was sorta looking to replace it with a nice Jazz.

If you know anything about Acacias, this is one of the best examples. Gorgeous figured maple top, mahogany core. Maple/Mahogany/Wenge neck and ebony board.

I've had it since 2004. It has served me well, although I haven't really played it out more than a half dozen times. I've recorded with it (I'll try to link a recording or two).

Lane Poors are worth the price of admission. Seriously worth the price of admission, and no longer made. Although I did add a 9v Bartolini 2 band pre to give it more gain, so there is a B/T stack.

That's the only mod on it. Kahler bridge...everything is in good shape.

Back in 2005, I had Matt Artinger replane the board and replace the frets.

Best feeling 6-er I've ever played.

Make me a reasonable offer... $1700 or so, but take a chance. I'm looking to unload so I can get a Jazz.

or...I'm looking for a US Fender Jazz (4 string only). Preferably an early 70's or earlier in good condition. I'd also prefer a block/bound maple neck.

There are several songs on here using the Acacia.
The "Liner Notes" are not completely correct as to which songs I tracked with him. I think these are the ones I used the Acacia:

Moonshine
Middle of Me
Eight Fourty Eight
It Will Follow (you can hear the tone very clearly on this one)
Sitting in the Middle of the Road
Level

35" scale
I'm not positive on the weight though...it's beefy (thus the tone).

Straplocks.
Comes with an Acacia gig bag.

Thanks. I was looking for scale and width. 35" is too long for me.

I always considered Acacia basses to be the spiritual successor to The old-Tobias basses. Amazing wood combination and workmanship. Not in the market but this makes me want to reconsider going back to 5 strings.

I'm getting hits, but I'm really looking for a vintage Jazz.

Still for sale or trade

It's back on the block. I'd like to add, I really don't do much trading or selling. Domestic sales are prefered.

So, it's been sitting in my music room for a while. I just haven't had the need to play it. I'm usually playing upright or I'll opt for my Ken Smith.

So, I just don't want it to languish. I've never owned a nice Fender Jazz. That's what I'm looking for, preferably an early 70's model.

Thanks...

Hey man, did you get this off of me years ago? If so, I thought it was actually pretty light and VERY comfy? Hope all is well!

Same bass! Still in great shape. Best playing 6 I've ever touched.
