SOLD Alembic Essence 4 Tiger Maple/Ebony FS/FT

Sign in to disble this ad
Here is my 1991 Essence I bought brand new.
This is a neck through bass so no international shipping on this one, sorry!

Take my word, I am a straight neck ultra low action fanatic.
Someone make me an offer I can't refuse.

I had no idea how to price this bass since I've had it since new. I researched on eBay and found in completed listings the lowest priced 4 string Essence sold for $1700 plus shipping. That's how I got it. If you think that's too high then make me a legitimate offer of some type. I'd like to sell this fast and not think about it too much. So for the weekend $1650.

I've wanted a neckthrough....
Was waiting on an affordable Smith.....
And yet..... you had to go an put up pretty pictures.
How *does* Alembic compare to Smith? And how long has the neck not had strings. That lack of tension makes me tense.

How's by you?
I put a new set of Ken Smith SS on today. Nothing else sounds like an Alembic. It's got that "School Days" sound down.
It's 1.625" or 1 5/8" nut width for sure.
19mm spacing string to string at the bridge saddles.
It is very thin front to back with superb heel-less access to the 24th fret.

Whoa there cowboy...

This bass has never been without strings except to change them. I took them off to photograph the bass and neck to show the presence of no fretwear. After the photos I put on a new set as I stated at the bottom in my original post. This neck and ebony fretboard are bulletproof, and functionality is absolutely as designed. There are no mods to this bass since the day I bought it.

Cash is king, but any of these 4 or 5 strings would be considered...
Any Sadowsky (HPJ4 #1)
Lakland
Nordy
Fender CS or 75 or 62 VRI jazzes
Modulus
Lull or any of comparable quality and value + or- $.
Bergantino cabs AE410
Epifani UL 410/610

Thanks and keep them coming

I have had some very nice trade offers today and I am considering all offers. Nothing is jumping out yet and I am waiting on photos from a couple of them.
Cash is always king though, make an offer all I can do is accept or pass easy as that.

Very light

Under 9 pounds!

BTW...
Here is the current Alembic spec link.

And the current price list with the Essence 4 is $5,800.00 displayed.

At $1650 this bass is a steal!
