This is an absolutely wonderful bass but I have decided I would like to sell a few items and raise some cash for a better Double bass...

Finish: 3T Sunburst Nitro
Body: Alder
Finderboard: Dalbergia Negra, vintage tint
Pickguard: Tort
Pickups: Single Alleva-Coppolo P
Preamp: passive Volume/Tone
Bridge: Vintage bent plate
Strings: TI Jazz Flats

I will also include a farily new set of Labella Jamerson flats, that have been on this bass for only a few hours before going back to the TIs. Will ship in the vintage style G&G case.

Asking $3800 plus shipping and insurance.

Didn't one of these just go for 3K back in November? I realize they're great basses, but I'll be keeping an eye on this to see where it goes.

What makes this bass more expensive is the really old Dalbergia Negra board (true brazillian rosewood) which Jimmy has had very limited supply of a 50 to 60 year old chunk. This brings this kind of bass a lot closer to a pre CBS fender but in a 5 string.

I'm not sure if Jimmy has any left at this point but the upcharge for that board on one of these basses is in the neighborhood of $1500 last I heard.

Wow. I'm neither a five-string guy nor a P-bass guy, but I've just gotta say THAT IS ONE HELL OF A NICE BASS.

I guarantee that there are a number of people on this board for whom this is their ultimate dream bass.

Wow, just lovely - it must be hard to part with this. These are not cheap basses, but the quality, craft and tone justify every penny. Good luck!
