Amazing G&L SB-2 Fretless FS (GandL)

Yet another bass up for sale as I am really a Fender guy... and a dozen basses is too many for a guy gigging twice a month!

This is like new and a solid 9.5/10.0. There are a couple of small dings that can't be photographed.

It plays like a dream, is all original, is fairly light and sounds great. Very little wear on the fingerboard.

I would keep this one, but just prefer Fenders.

No trades on this one and available shipped anywhere in the Continental USA or Canada for $775 through PayPal.

I've checked out this bass personally. It is in great shape, beautiful bass. I would be on it, but I am loaded in the fretless department.

This seller is a great TBer, I highly recommend him.

If I could play fretless worth a darn, I'd plotz.

Big bump for G&L's candy apple red! One of the most stunning finishes I've seen in person.

Very nice! A fretless SB2 that I haven't owned? Inconceivable (gratuitous Princess Bride reference)

fingerboard wood is most likely ebony as that's what G&L uses for fretless (I've had several with varying amounts of visible grain in the ebony)

If I didn't still have a fretless SB2 I'd be searching the couch for change (or eyeing all current basses for what could be sold)

Actually, the G&L website lists both as an option. These days rosewood is what they'll use if you want ghost lines (for the same reason they no longer offer fretted ebony) but I've seen a couple without that were definitely rosewood.

This one could go either way but if I had to guess I'd say ebony.

Can you give an idea of the neck profile & width of the nut? Closer to a jazz or precision?

Thanks

I'd forgotten they added rosewood as an option when they reduced their ebony availability. All the ones I've had were ebony (ghostlined or unlined) - all 3-bolt era (when I think ebony was the only factory fretless option).

Regardless of fingerboard wood I highly recommend the SB2 as a fretless - I really dig mine (as do the folks I play it with).

Just a bump from another fretless SB-2 player. I'd buy this one just for the sheer beauty of it, let alone a back-up.

No clue but I would guess ash. Soley based on the weight and tone.

Kinda in between. Closer to a Jazz though IMO.
