Hey boys and girls,
Up for grabs is my vintage Matsumoku Aria Pro II Destroyer ZZ Custom bass, with original hardshell case. I love it but can't get used to the shape, so I know it won't get played and I can't justify keeping it as wall art...
98% original, down to the high-mass brass bridge with fine tuners. The previous owner replaced the jack, but everything else is factory, as far as I can tell. Way cool brass knobs!
Electronics: Decent shape, although the three-way switch may need some cleaning. I've kept it on the neck position, so it hasn't been an issue. Stock Aria p'ups and electronics have a great voice and output.
Hardware: Everything functions as it should, although the fine tuner on the "E" string seems to have less play versus the other three strings. Pictured with dunlop staplocks, but these will be removed and the original strap buttons replaced.
Finish: Assorted dings and dents, as expected on a pointy instrument of this vintage, but the major cosmetic blem is that somewhere in its' glorious life, a previous owner played her with either a bracelet or metal watch which caused some linear scratches right above the bridge, most noticeable on the black paint.
Case: Fine functional shape. The previous owner did a "repair" job on one of the hinges, but instead of using a hinge pin or paper clip, he opted for a guitar string. Hey, it does the job. Also has a linear tear in the face tolex, but again, structurally sound and will protect this baby in her travels.
Asking $350 + split shipping to the lower 48 on this lovely example of MIJ/Matsumoku glory day goodness. I will field reasonable offers.
Sorry, not interested in trades at this time (unless it's a USA BC Rich ST3 bass valued near my asking price).
