I purchased this beautiful SB700 new in 1980 or 1981, S/N 105009. The wood is stunning - see attached images. Like most SB's, the bass is a bit on the heavy side (11.1 pounds) but perfectly balanced. Five piece maple/walnut neck-though design, 24 frets, solid brass nut and bridge - every note is bright and clear. Sustain is outstanding. Straightforward electronics: passive humbucker, volume and tone controls, toggle tone switch (I believe series/parallel). Original case, original frets, original Allen keys, original store tag. String spacing is narrow - 16 mm at the bridge. No issues, no major cosmetic flaws, just 30 years of light playing wear. Great bass.
