Bacchus 5 string jazz bass - Ash / Maple MUST SEE

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!! Czech Republic, Liberec bound.
For sale is my Bacchus 5 string jazz bass. This one is an early 2000 Handmade Series by Headway, which is their top of the line bass. 35" scale, ash body, white washed oil finish matching headstock, maple neck with matching pearl blocks and bindings. Bacchus single coil stock pickups with Bartolini Preamp. Weighs in at 9 lbs. 14 oz. String spacing is almost identical to my standard Fender Jazz 5 at the bridge. Frets are like new with no signs of wear. Original Bacchus gig bag, in excellent condition is included. The attention to detail and quality of this bass is remarkable. There are some minor finish dents, or scrapes which are not apparent due to the type of finish...see pics. Recent setup with a fresh set of stainless steels, low action - fast. Arthritis in my older hands has prevented me from enjoying 35" basses so this one needs to move on to someone who can appreciate it.

$1500 Shipped - Contl US only please - Thanks

This sure looks like my old bass. I used it on the "Me and Charlie Talking" video with Miranda Lambert. The story behind this bass is the folks at Bacchus made this bass for Richard Bona. I forget how I came to own it but it's a killer jazz bass with slightly narrower string spacing at the bridge. Only reason I parted with it was the 35" scale thing. Nice bass and pretty too. Very sadowsky-ish tone wise.

You are correct Rich. I bought it from you back in 2004. It does have a killer Sadowsky tone to it. Cuts through the mix nicely. This is the video you are referring to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EGabHDMUN0
I hope you are doing well. Thanks for your post.

I have banned myself from lusting after any more Jazz style basses (have too many!)... but this is one of the most gorgeous basses I've ever seen.

I have something similar to this in a 4 string version with Nordstrands and an Audere, and I can tell you it's pretty damn good.

Considering some of the interesting 4 string trade options. Especially the USA Fender Precisions and Musicman Rays. Keep em coming!

This bass is spoken for and destined to the Czech Republic, Liberec to my new Talkbass friend Davidak. I'm happy to send it his way. What a nice guy!
