You probably saw this bass recently on TalkBass. I picked it up on a trade but got some really nasty bills in the mail yesterday. Since this was more like a collector's item to me, it is up for grabs. I need cash. Sorry, no trades.
Here's the original thread, with all the info and pictures: FS/FT: A Rare Bird... Fender Precision Steve Harris Signature (1st run)!!!
To clear the confusion about the date, I just confirmed that the serial number has the first digit "0", meaning it is in fact a five digit number. According to Fender Japan, it was produced between 1999-2002. This run is from 2001.
I would also like to add that although it is not exactly like the bass Steve plays, it's probably a better player, because it is light.
So there you go: if you're a Maiden fan like me, here's a chance to own a rare collectible instrument. If not, you got a pretty good Fender Precision.
Price: $900 shipped CONUS, Paypal.
Again, sorry, no trades.

I think I got pretty good shots of the bass now, even some dust is showing up near the pickup and in the tuners (should have cleaned it better, I know), so you know what you're going to get.
Here are the pictures: http://gallery.me.com/macribas#100095
It plays great, I am taking it to practice tonight, but I still need the money. Because of the finish problems, I am willing to entertain any reasonable offers.
Let me know what you think. |

Bump. |

This P-bass is the real deal! Lightweight, and hot-rodded from the factory with Seymour Duncan pickup, and Badass II bridge. Originally a Cadillac color, you already know the LPB finish is so classy (My personal favorite Fender color). Macribas is a super great guy to deal with! His attention to detail is second to none. I can personally vouch for his honesty. if you really want a Fender Steve Harris Signature P, now your chance. These are getting harder to find!

This is a "just got a credit card statement" bump. But I have to say this bass is growing on me. |

I noticed you have an EXB445, I do too. It was my first bass and I still keep it. I actually have two of them. Today I find the string spacing too narrow, but it wasn't a problem back in the day. |

I am a big Lakland fan as you can see in my signature. This is my first ever classic P-bass. I don't really need P-tones for what I do, that's why it is for sale. While I think it is growing on me, and a bassist could always use a P, I still need to make ends meet.
At the risk of sounding dumb, I have to say I have never felt differences in the finish of P vs J necks. I thought you could have P or J necks of all finish types. I have seen finishes of three types: satin, oil and glossy, oil being in between satin and glossy. This neck has the oil type finish. Does it help?
Nice Classic you have, by the way. |

I love my classic SR thanks for the compliment

I love my classic SR thanks for the compliment | Oh, ok. Yeah, in that case, this is most definitely a chunky P neck. |
