I've got a 1975 Musicmaster Bass, according to its serial number (635330). Mostly original hardware with a few upgrades - the pickguard, tuners, bridge, knobs, F plate with serial #, and nitro finish are all original. The original owner replaced the control plate with a mustang-style one (a good move, imo). I've had new pots, a new input jack, and a new GFS Tru-Coil noiseless 10k neck pickup installed by a local shop - over $120 worth of work done. The output is much hotter now and it sounds much, much fatter than the original 36-year-old strat pickup that they put in all of these things. I do have all of the original electronics and pickup cover still on hand and will include them, if you're one of those types who likes to hold on to everything with vintage items. I do not have the pickup cover on it in the pictures because the pickup cavity is just deep enough to fit this pickup - with the cover, it doesn't quite fit as well as it could. Your call, however.
It's aged over time to a nice creamy yellow tint and has its share of nicks, chips and scratches - about what you'd expect from normal, gigging use for a 36-year-old bass. All bruises are cosmetic, nothing structural and nothing to worry about. I've got a fresh set of D'Addario Chromes flatwounds, 45-100 guage, that I'll include with it. Straight neck and low action, wonderfully intonated.
This bass is a gig-proven, studio-tested joy to play and it will truly be missed! This is honestly the best-sounding, best-playing vintage shortscale I've ever played, and I have played many.
