Hi Everyone, I am going to let go of my Barker B1 electric upright bass guitar. This bass is the original design, fretted 4-string, 34" scale. The serial number is 03 0024. I assume this is the 24th bass Lee made commercially.
Here are a few things the next owner needs to know about this bass:
I gigged this bass steadily for about 3 years. It has its share of bumps, bruises and beauty marks. More pictures will follow once I get my photobucket account to behave.
The tuners have been changed. The bass is tuned D G C F.
I recently put some barely used Nanoweb Elixirs on; that is why the truss rod cover is off in the picture. I do have the truss rod cover.
The E-string saddle has one stuck height adjustment screw. Therefore, the saddle needs repair or replacement. The bass is perfectly playable as is. Plays beautifully, actually!
The bass currently has older Fender Lace Sensors installed. There are 2 outputs and a switching pot to send the bridge pickup signal to either of the two outputs. I will sell the bass for $ 50. less if you do not want the electronics (i.e., pickups and pots).
The neck has been mounted on a different body previously and has multiple screw holes in the heel. The neck itself is quite stable, adjusts properly and plays wonderfully. It's a great neck!
One of the five neck mounting screws is absent. The bass is entirely stable with the four remaining neck screws. They are heavy-duty construction style screws, not standard fender-style neck screws.
The original control plate cover screws are absent. I will use different screws or leave the cover off at your preference.
I think that just about covers it...I have purchased used basses before and I know how much it helps to know about all the little things on a used bass.
That being said, the bass looks majestic on stage and always commands respect. It sounds beautiful and is fun to play. The neck, made by Warmoth, is absolutely wonderful. I've played a few Warmoth necks--but never one this nice and smooth. The bass is surprisingly easy to play. Some people need a few minutes to adjust to playing vertically. For me, it was instantaneous. It is so much easier to play bass with the neck upright!

The bass comes with a stand, gig bag and stand bag. I will ship the body in one box and the neck and stands in another box via Fed Ex Ground.
