He's a pretty cool guy who has a pretty cool bass who just doesn't know how TalkBass works...
BTW the bass he has is the Prototype for the Infinite Metal Werkz Boom Slang. The production model had a Kahler Whammy-Bar, which I could live without! If this was a 5-String I would be all over it!
IMW was founded by Craig Gruber, who was in ELF, a founding member of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, played with Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, etc etc ad infinium.
Here's a post Craig Gruber made in The Forums: Infinite Metal Werkz basses from Craig Gruber
This bass was Hand Delivered to our beloved OP by one Craig Gruber, and is probably one of a kind, and worth quite a bit more than our TB Classified Challenged OP is able to communicate. Here is THAT Story! I met Craig Gruber

all the interest and kind remarks left me. IMO this is a very nice well made bass that plays
fast evenly and has zero stress on the sockets. It isnt perfect as it has some cloudiness in
the top coat and some rub marks along the teak board the headstock has some outer edge
nicks all were there when I recieved it. Weight is 8.8lbs nut 1.5 " 24 fret 36" scale gotoh
tunners and hipshot bridge abalone inlays dual HB,s [custom] The bass itself is passive yet
it comes armed with a 9v power boost owner inventor designed. The sound, can be
whatever your right hand can turn with 5 controls. vol/blend/neck/bridge/power bosst.
Strap locs are custom and input jack is a switchcraft. Bass top is pecan. Maple back and
its a neckthru. Color is amazing. Playability is wonderful. Its a beast always gets
attention.

I use it every day in conjunction with my other base which I keep in natural tuning. The neck on this thing is smooth as silk. It is so comfortable to use that I think I'm going to go ahead and just keep it. I can't bear to part with it every time I pick it up to play it I I asked myself why do I want to get rid of it.
I'm just that human to want to try something new and different. The different questions and responses regarding my base and frankly the general non-interest in it has made me realize that maybe it's not the right thing to do to try to trade or sell it.
What I have here is an incredibly cool nicely made well played guitar it is the cat's meow in person. How could I do such a thing by letting it go. Only the collector and those bass players who are well off can appreciate what this base is. It's not for the squeamish. It is one bad mammy jammer of a player. I think I just wish somebody would've offered me something so good that I couldn't refuse it and so the story goes.

I can tell by your feedback score of 64 that you are you an experienced salesman and buyer of bass guitar items. EBay is the only place I have feedback close to yours. I am fly rod on eBay. All my feedback is from buying. This probably isn't going to help you or I very much. About two years ago I tried to list the bass of mine after hearing about this neat website called talk bass.
Maybe you remember reading about it and maybe you remember how do I say this delicately the amount of discussion it created among a lot of the members. Hurting your feelings is nothing I want to do. I do not know anything about Spector basses except that the euro for LAX if I remember correctly is among the upper echelon in their baseline for that alone I thank you for offering one to me for my base.
I am convinced that neck through basses are for me and both basses I used today including the one that I'm offering here on talk bass are neck through. I am a four string player and I have never used a pic I use my fingers only if that means anything.
I would be more than happy to look at pictures of the bass of yours if you wish to send them to me! I'd like to apologize for getting back with you this late I think I have about run the gamut of hoping against all hope that I would get something so fabulous I couldn't say no to so please don't take that the wrong way.
I want to say to you that I am very old school I can't help it it was my Yankee upbringing but I choose to be of southern mannerisms today. I don't go for flash as much as I look at style and color. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're probably the same way.
I'm not going to come right out and say thank you but no thank you to your base until I've seen it I'm not a very hard-core type of person and saying no isn't one something that I'm good at but I got a tell you that the bass of yours has to be something very extra special before I would consider trading get even up.
Take good care and if I hear back from you great if you choose to seek business elsewhere I totally completely understand and want nothing more than for you to have a very happy new year for you and your family, thank you 73jbass, Mark.

Some interest and a couple of offers on my bass. However nothing that causes me to pull the trigger. I really appreciate you looking at my thread maybe since its the begining of a new year things well loosen up a little bit. I'll hold out a little while longer to see if something happens.
Happy new year!

| | Registered Schmoozer. | | | | I'll bump for this good post. It does look like a nice bass and, from everything I could gather, I'd probably prefer this prototype to the production models (nicer top, no cheesy logos on the body, solid bridge).
The company doesn't appear to be in business anymore but that, in and of itself, doesn't say anything one way or the other about the quality of the bass. Quote:
