Beautiful 1993 Ibanez 1305 5-String - Wenge, Bubinga, Mahogany, Padauk --Many photos

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

Hi-

I have for sale this very nice 5-string. Please don't confuse this lovely bass with the lower-cost Ibanez Soundgear basses that are currently available. This one was made in Japan, and the workmanship and materials are very good. Think of it as a "Prestige" before Ibanez shifted most of their production to other countries and started naming their high-end Japanese basses "Prestige".

It has a 5-piece Wenge and Bubinga neck with a Wenge fingerboard. The body has Padauk on the front and back, sandwiching Mahogany. Check out the fantastic straight grain on the Wenge. Wenge is an excellent wood for necks and fingerboards. All of the woods used are well-chosen and quite beautiful.

This bass has a block inlay that reads "Custom Made", though I don't think anything is actually custom on it. It's labled SR-1305 No. 39/54 in the neck pocket, so they must not have made many of them. I believe it originally sold (or at least retailed) for around $1700.

This bass has active electronics, including a three-band EQ with a semi-parametric midrange control! It sounds good, and can achieve a wide range of tones. The neck feels great.

The knobs are the only non-original parts. I will include the original knobs. One of the original outer concentric knobs is broken, and rather than try to source a replacement, I just put the new knobs on that I had in my shop. If you want to go back to stock black knobs, you will need to replace one outer ring.

Scroll down to check out the photos. Although the flaws are difficult to see in the photos, being a 14-yr old bass, there are many small nicks, dents, scrapes, etc. Nothing major, but don't expect a pristine instrument. Having said that, it is a very attractive instrument and the fantastic combination of woods give it a very high-end look. The frets show a little wear, but no major wear or issues.

It is weighs a reasonable 9 lb.-6 oz. according to my postal scale. The nut is 1-3/4 " in width. The neck is thin (front to back) and very comfortable to play. It has a 34" scale and string spacing at the bridge of 17mm 16.5mm. I have no case for it. I could add a gigbag for extra money.

Now the best part (for you). It's probably only worth $500 in today's market, which is a lot of instrument for not much money. So, I'd like to get $525 including shipping in the continental US. I am firm on the price. PayPal or other forms of payment accepted. Please check out my feedback if you are interested. I will pack the bass very well and ship promptly.

Check out the photos.

Very nice bass! I used to own it's fretless cousin a few years ago. Not much of a bump since you just posted this, but this is a really nice bass - plus it's just plain gorgreous.

Good luck with this sale.

oh man, thats pretty. I owned the fretless cousin Dave was talking about, and sold it to him. That wood combo gets me everytime, and I remember how smooth it was to play. I cant afford it nor do I need another bass, but its a great instrument guys, bump and good luck!

Just throwing this out there, because it caught my eye, but according to the serial number (F339888) this bass is from '93. Stunning bass.

$1,599.99 original price, so OP was accurate on sale price.

If I had the spare change i'd be snatching this up. I love the way the 1305's sound. Somebody needs to give this a good home!

Bump for 1001 views. I'm close to a deal with a gentleman from Russia, but for now, a full-price domestic offer will still take it.

You have no idea how all over this bass I would be if I had money.

Wouldn't even think twice; it would be mine.
