Benavente Vortex 5 w/ Spalted Maple top, Maple fretboard and Neck, Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups w/ John Suhr 3 band preamp w/ passive/active switch, mute switch, series/parallel switch. Has volume and pick up pan controls and recessed input jack (see pics).
It gives great J bass tones, very comfortable, looks and sounds killer. Handmade by Chris Benavente in his Oregon, USA shop, and is featured on the Benavente website. The neck has a smooth satin finish, and is flatter than most necks. Low action with no fret buzz.No major issues, a couple of small dings on the back, top is very nice and has 2 small nicks that can not even be seen on the pics. Chris Benavente is a top Boutique builder & makes serious handmade basses.
string spacing is 19mm adjustable or comfortable ¾” spacing, active passive switch, series parallel switch, Mute switch. 35” scale is a Custom Option & provides a great Low B! Recessed strap locks, no neck issues. Brass nut & 9v circuit.
