Birdsong Skyrider 3 FS/T

Sign in to disble this ad
***************SOLD**************I have an absolutely mint, 2010 Birdsong Skyrider 3, fretted 4 string up for sale. It is an amazing bass. The Skyrider 3 is bassically the 2 pickup Cortobass on a little fancier platform. I can't find a single nick or ding anywhere. Sounds, plays and feels amazing.
Super light weight, mahogany body with bloodwood stringers and truss cover. Rosewood board and two Lace Sensor pickups set up for VVT. This does not have the vari tone that most seem to dislike, but is instead setup with a more useable "tone" pot.
It weighs in at just 7.6 lbs on my digital scale.
And since this is a 31" scale and has thru body stringing, you can use any long scale strings you wish. Your not suck using the limited selection of "shortscale" strings on the market.
This is now only available via Birdsong's "Custom" line and costs $2200.00 with a 6 to 9 month wait.
I am only asking ***REDUCED***$1425.00 SHIPPED, anywhere in the lower 48 with HSC included. If you were ever wanting to pick up a custom shortscale, this is definately the time. Save $775, your back, and a long wait.

My prefered trades would be; (but hit me up with what you have)

Aguilar DB 359
Fender Custom Shop P bass
Fender's new 55 style anniversary P bass
08 or newer olympic white Fender P bass + $550
Nash P bass heavilly relic'd
Mid 70's P bass (Fender)

More pics to come later today.

To answer a few PM's at once, yes it comes with the certificate from Birdsong. Seriously, when is the last time you saw one of these show come up.

Super sweet bass.

I'm curious about the bass, it looks like the Cortobass without the Varitone? Is it still all passive? Beautiful instrument, I'm just starting to plan a visit to Wimberley to get one!

Yes it is bassically a Cortobass with a Mahogany body and Bloodwood stringers. It is passive, and has a little more fancy shape. I purchased it from the original owner who (like many others) LOVED the bass, but didn't care for the varitone. He talked directly to birdsong and they walked him through the steps to remove it and install a tone pot.
The VVT setup works great on this bass and sounds fantastic. This is a REALLY high end bass. The build quality is second to none.

Free bump for a lovely bass.
What do you mean by 'three fretted'?
Is the neck carve more on the beefy/deep side or slender/flat side?
And is the neck pickup response fairly full-range? I'd think it would really emphasize the bottom that far from the bridge.

It is a Skyrider 3, fretted four string bass. Not a 3 fretted bass. I must have left out the comma.
The neck pickup is really nice. Full range.
Then neck is awesome. Hard to describe. It's more on the thin side, but how it goes into a v shape by the headstock is genoius. It is SO comfy to play.

Ay sound clips anywhere? I just got a rob Allen mouse and love the short scale. I may be tempted to go short for a fretted bass as well.

I wish I did. I just don't have any recording software.
BIG tone for a small bass.

I played her again last night at the gig and seriously, you could play this bass all night long with no shoulder or back fatigue.
It is so light.
